cockpit — the capability registry
The capability registry and its evidence join — what works across every paged repository, according to their tests, and the data behind this site's capability pages.
In short cockpit is the system's source of truth for status. One row per
capability, structured by the same chapter taxonomy as this site, with a claim per
implementation layer and a health computed from the newest CI test runs of every
repository. It powers the capability state pages and the
support badges across the IDML reference. It replaced the
earlier state registry on 2026-09-11.
What it does
- A registry of 705 capability rows
(
docs/features/<chapter>/<id>.md), each with a lifecycle and per-layer claims. - An evidence join: every repository's CI uploads its test results; tests name
the capabilities they prove (
@feat:tags, or a test map for suites that cannot carry one). - An export (
cockpit export) that writes the joined record as one JSON document, nightly and whenever a repository's main test run finishes.
How this site uses it
The docs pull the export at build time and project it into the
matrix and every <SupportBadge>; the same record is
published as capabilities.json. See
how it works and
how it's tested.

The public, read-only WebGPU IDML viewer — renderer-core only, no editing. Both the community viewer and the docs live-preview component.
docs — this site
The documentation site itself — a Fumadocs (Next.js + MDX) site that documents both the IDML format and the whole paged platform, generated from the system's own machine-readable sources.
